Biography

Aditya Assarat was born on January 16, 1972 in Bangkok
and studied film production at the University of Southern
California before making his first short film. In 2004, he
was invited to attend the Sundance Director’s Lab, a training
ground for promising filmmakers from around the world.
In 2005, he was chosen to work for one year with Indian
director Mira Nair as part of the Rolex Mentor and Protégé
Arts Initiative. WONDERFUL TOWN is his first feature film.
He is currently working on his new film High Society.

Takua Pa is a small town in the south of Thailand. Ever since
the tsunami, people here have no jobs. Young people ride
motorcycles around in circles; old people remember better
times in the past. One day a stranger comes to town. Ton
is an architect. He rents a room in a small hotel owned by
Na. They begin to have a secret love affair but soon people
start to whisper. The town has found its enemy.
