Press voices

«Ganz grosses feministisches Kino voller Wendepunkte und pointierter Dialoge und mit der stärksten weiblichen Heldin des diesjähirgen Freiburger Filmfestivals – und das will etwas heissen.» RadioFr. Freiburg, Georges Wyrsch

«Its world is so well built out and Palestinian actress Mouna Hawa’s lead performance is so absorbing, the final result is a mesmerizing piece of personal, yet political filmmaking.» RogerEbert

«Hervorragend gespielt und temporeich erzählt.» Film Threat

«A gripping social drama about systemic oppression that morphs into a masterful thriller.» Variety

«Inspired by the real-life experiences of a close relative of director Amjad Al Rasheed, Inshallah a Boy delivers a social realist critique of Jordan’s structural oppression of women and girls.» Screen International
