As part of his foundation for the preservation of film heritage, the filmmaker Martin Scorsese founded the «World Cinema Project» in association with a number of well-known filmmakers around the world. Many of them have been in the trigon-film collection for thirty years. A natural partnership resulted. Several films from Martin Scorsese's World Cinema Project have already released as single titles in the trigon-film edition. Now we are combining three films twice in two boxes with an accompanying book

In «World Cinema 1», there are a short and a long film by the Senegalese Osmane Sembène, La noire de ... and Borom Sarret, a key work by the Bengali Rhitwik Ghatak, The River Titash and, as a great classic of Brazilian cinema, Limite by Mário Peixoto from the year 1931. All films have been carefully restored by Immagine Ritrovato in Bologna.
